Sheonoroil Board of Directors

The Sheonoroil Foundation is currently undergoing a period of renewal and strategic re-envisioning. As we update our direction and website, we are not accepting grant applications at this time. Please check back for future updates and announcements.

Established in 1999 by the Nova Scotia Teachers Union, the Sheonoroil Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to supporting research, inquiry, reflection, writing, information sharing, and practical initiatives aimed at addressing all forms of violence in public schools. This includes promoting anti-violence education and fostering safe, peaceful learning environments. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors and provides financial support to active and retired members of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union, groups of NSTU members, and public school students working in collaboration with a teacher or faculty advisor. When funding is available, grants are awarded to anti-violence programs that demonstrate a direct and meaningful impact on classrooms, students, teachers, faculty, staff, administrators, and the broader school community.
