Secondments to NSTU Executive Staff

In recent years, the Nova Scotia Teachers Union has seconded active members to meet staffing needs that occur from time to time as the result of some special project/initiative or a crisis situation within the organization. These members remain as an employee of their school board in every respect and the Union reimburses the board for the cost of salary and benefits. All onsite and travel costs of the seconded individuals are reimbursed by the Union. We are presently updating our file of members interested in being considered for short-term secondments. Only active members with a form on file are eligible to be selected. The specific duties of an individual or individuals seconded are not known at this time as the demands of the organization and the capacity of existing staff to respond are subject to change. Assignments of existing staff may be changed to accommodate changing demands, therefore, seconded positions could be in programs or services caused by the reassignment of staff.
