Certifications and Upgrading
All teachers in Nova Scotia are required to hold valid certification from the Department of Education, as outlined in the Teachers' Provincial Agreement and the Education Act. The current certification framework was introduced on August 1, 2000, through collaboration between the Department of Education and the Union. Since then, it has been periodically updated to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and responsive to educators’ needs. |
