OTTAWA –The Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF) and the Francoforum de Saint-Pierre et Miquelon are proud to collaborate in a training program based on the Pédagogie à l’école de langue française (PELF) (a pedagogy for French-language schools) in the summer of 2017. PELF is a training concept designed to meet the needs of teachers in Francophone minority settings in Canada in order to ensure students’ academic success and identity building.

The two parties will sign a letter of intent to formalize their partnership agreement during the CTF Francophone Symposium next week.

To obtain more information on the July 24–28, 2017 summer training program, teachers in Francophone minority settings may contact CTF’s Services to Francophones. A campaign to promote the event will be launched shortly.

Located on the French island of Saint-Pierre, the Francoforum is a language immersion institute which has specialized in French as a second or foreign language teaching since 1992. The Francoforum is partnering with CTF to diversify its activities.

Founded in 1920, the CTF is a national alliance of provincial and territorial Member organizations that represent nearly 232,000 teachers across Canada. CTF is also a member of the 32-million member Education International. @@CanTeachersFed
