Provincial Conference – Friday, October 24, 2025

This year’s conference will consist of three dynamic keynote speakers, with a focus on fostering community and connection, empowering youth and helping turn dreams into reality. We are very pleased to welcome Nova Scotia’s Wandering Wilsons, Hope Blooms, and the EYM Project. Through their work, they nurture potential and foster confidence, just like teachers do every day in the classroom. We hope you’ll leave feeling uplifted and recharged, and ready to continue the powerful work of shaping futures and sparking possibility.
Important Notice: There will be no lunch provided at the venue this year.

Natalie Frederick-Wilson
 Session A  • Nova Scotia’s Wandering Wilsons
Natalie blends her love of family and adventure through her Facebook travel blog, Nova Scotia's Wandering Wilsons, where she documents her explorations and the meaningful stories that unfold along the way. Professionally, she brings her strategic business consulting and economic development background in Entrepreneurship to her work, but her passion lies in helping others rediscover joy, connection, and purpose—especially through travel and shared experiences. Natalie and her multi-race, multi-ethnic, multi country, multi-lingual family, believes that Adventure is for Everyone. A good dose of rest, recreation, explorations, education, through fun and adventure is just what families needWe are thrilled to welcome the Wandering Wilsons as our opening session speakers and look forward to the meaningful message Natalie Frederick-Wilson and her family will share about joy, connection, and the power of adventure for everyone.

Kolade Boboye
 Session B  Hope Blooms
Hope Blooms is a social enterprise based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, focused on empowering youth through education, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. It primarily operates by cultivating a community garden and producing products like herbal teas, salad dressings, and other food items. Their initiatives emphasize teaching young people about healthy living, gardening, and business skills, all while fostering a sense of community and social responsibility. Through these innovative agricultural and culinary programs, Hope Blooms engages youth to become change agents, positively impacting the community. We’re excited to welcome Kolade Boboye, a proud alum and the current Manager of Social Business and Innovation at Hope Blooms. He’ll share the inspiring work they’re doing and will be joined by current youth participants who are leading the way.

Carter Chiasson
 Session C  EYM Project

Carter Chiasson is an educator, musician, and producer committed to empowering young artists through innovative music and film initiatives that celebrate cultural identity and confront social issues. For over a decade, he has worked at Eskasoni First Nation in Nova Scotia, where he has developed award-winning music projects, engaging arts curricula, and impactful collaborations with organizations such as the National Arts Centre of Canada and UNESCO. In 2020, Carter received national recognition as the MusiCounts Music Teacher of the Year, earning a JUNO Award for his outstanding contributions to music education. As a musician and producer, Carter has supported numerous artists both in the studio and on stage, including celebrated Indigenous artist Emma Stevens. Their collaborations have garnered international acclaim, including performances at major festivals and two United Nations events, with praise from global icons like Paul McCartney. In 2024, Carter launched The Empower Youth Music Project, an initiative designed to uplift youth through artistic expression and cross-cultural collaboration. The project has already delivered two standout releases, including "We Are the Love", a powerful anthem uniting Canadian and Ukrainian youth in a message of peace and solidarity. In our afternoon session, Carter will discuss his work, offer creative inspiration for the classroom, and leave us with a performance featuring Emma Stevens.
